This bridge as originally built was similar to the Kleine Marxerbrücke with similar ornamentation. However, most of that ornamentation has been lost on this bridge, giving it a much more simple appearance. Although difficult to see from sidewalks, this bridge has an unusual fishbelly girder design hidden in between the rectangular fascia girders.
