This bridge is a rare example of what could be called a "false camelback." Built during the time that Michigan's concrete curved chord through girder (concrete camelback) bridges were being built, these bridges which were either concrete slab bridges or concrete t-beam bridges featured railings that have similar architectural features to that seen on Michigan's concrete camelback bridges. They are not concrete camelback bridges because the railings are not part of the superstructure ( not load-bearing), they are simply railings. These "false camelback" bridges were likely designed to help match the appearance of the concrete camelback bridges and thus create consistency in the aesthetic design on roadways of the period.

This particular example is an excellent representative example of its kind. It has not been altered nor have any modern guardrails been added, and as such its historic integrity is excellent. This example is also notably skewed.

This bridge is tagged with the following special condition(s): False Camelback
