This abandoned railroad overpass crosses US-31 near the top of a long sloping hill, and beautiful Lake Michigan is visible fair below from this bridge, making for a dramatic and scenic setting. Painted an attractive blue color instead of the usual railroad black, this bridge is not an eyesore and is quite striking in appearance, especially with its heavy skew. The bridge retains excellent historic integrity, with the removal of railroad tracks and ties being the only alteration of note. Michigan State Highway Department standard plaques remain on the bridge.
