This bridge no longer exists!

Bridge Status: Demolished and replaced in 2022!

2019 Update: As of May 2019, this bridge is closed to vehicular traffic following a bridge inspection. News media reported that this bridge dated to 1952, the riveted truss was clearly older than this; perhaps it was moved here from another unknown location and reused in 1952.

This attractive bridge has a pony truss main span and three stringer approach spans at the eastern end of the bridge. Both the stringer spans and the truss span have lattice railing. Overall the bridge has excellent historic integrity with no major alterations. The only alteration is itself significant. One of railing panels on a stronger span was replaced at some time (long ago) with a different railing panel, apparently salvaged from some other old bridge. This railing panel has decorative buttons in the center of each lattice bar. This bridge is a great place to view the adjacent King Street Bridge. Together these two different types of bridges, both with significant heritage value, form a unique scene and opportunity to visually compare two different types of heritage bridge.
