Bridge Documentation

This bridge's future is at risk!

Bridge Status: Peter D. A. Warwick reports this bridge slated to be replaced as part of regular GO Train service coming to Niagara. Replacement project slated for 2024. Closed to all traffic November 2023.

This bridge is noteworthy as a highway over railway plate girder overpass. Most plate girder railway overpasses are railway over highway bridges. Additionally, this bridge is noted for its heavy skew. It is so heavily skewed that the majority of one of the girders at each end extends nearly completely beyond the end of the girder on the other side of the roadway. The bridge has excellent historic integrity and retains original lattice railings on the sidewalk. The railings include decorative metal railing posts.
