This bridge is a small concrete arch bridge that retains good historic integrity, including original paneled railings. It is a good representative example of the design bridge that was being used in Pennsylvania for smaller crossings on state highways in the 1920s.

Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge Inventory

Discussion of Bridge

The 70' long, reinforced concrete, deck arch bridge has recessed panel parapets. The panels have a bush hammer finish. One end was replaced in 1992. It has a different finish than the original. The bridge is an example of what by 1915 was common technology in the state. Neither the bridge nor its setting are historically or technologically significant.

Discussion of Surrounding Area

The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a sparsely developed, wooded setting on a bypassed section of SR 21. A post-World War II cinder block warehouse and garage are beyond the NW quadrant. The area does not have historic district potential.
