Missouri has (or had) one of the largest metal truss bridge populations in the country, and there are also many other historic bridge types in the state. Sadly, there is not a lot of preservation going on and historic bridges are rapidly being demolished in this state. Missouri once had an impressive collection of monumental size cantilever truss bridges, but this population has dropped and continues to drop drastically. Note: If you are looking for bridges in the Kansas City area, it can be confusing due to the city, state, and county borders. This link will list all bridges on HistoricBridges.org in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.
