The white dot in the river indicates the location of the Butler Ford bridge. The new Anderson Hill bridge was built downstream of the oid bridge. The road leading to the old bridge is now a private drive.

Looking downstream, the Anderson Hill bridge is in the distance. Remains of the Butler Ford bridge are on the left (east) bank. There used to be a pier in the middle of the river for a C&EI railroad bridge right about where the Anderson Hill Bridge is.

This is a view of Ellsworth Park in a collection published about 1906, though the photo may have been taken much earlier. The bridge in the background is most likely the Woolen Mill bridge, though it has an unfinished appearance. I had to crop the photo to enlarge the bridge - and to show that there actually is water in the North Fork river.

This is a view of the bridge looking roughly southeast. In the foreground are the Illinois Terminal tracks after crossing their own Middle Fork river bridge. This view shows the original highway route. After crossing the bridge the road took a tight S-turn up to Batestown Rd and on into Danville. Now, the road goes straight east through a cut toward the Interstate, eliminating the turn.

Seminary Street Bridge, 1937
Moved to this location when the stone arch bridge was built on Main Street, the occasion of this photo was that the bridge was once again on the move. It had been declared unsafe for auto traffic and was to be moved downstream to be used as a pedestrian bridge.
