Recreation At Bridge
Canoeing and 'tubing' are popular in the area in the summer. As I was photographing the bridge two tubers and their cooler floated past. It was over 90 degrees that day and it looked like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Strangely one of the complaints about the bridge was made by a canoe rental business who feels the bridge might pose a hazard to it's customers.

The Road Around The Bridge
This road is old SR-1 and has continuously been subject to land slides. Recent repair work is evident. The state highway department has never been able to stabilize this road. Traffic that would have been able to cross Cedar Grove Bridge to US 52 will have to use this road as long as the bridge is closed. They also use Campground Road bridge, a concrete arch from 1905. Why not just maintain Ceder Grove bridge and eliminate this mess?
