Lincoln Highway Marker near bridge. In 1928, the last act of the Lincoln Highway Association, before it disbanded, was to place 2,761 of these markers along the route of the Lincoln Highway. They were all placed on September 10, 1928 by Boy Scouts. Today, very few remain and of those, few are in their original locations.

The markers featured the familiar red white and blue logo with the blue "L" in the center. The colors were molded into the concrete and the colors remain 80 years later.
