This is one of a trio of multi-span pony truss bridges along this stretch of road.
This bridge is one of a unique group of historic bridges along this stetch of road, that as of 2020, remained extant. Along this roughly three mile stretch of US-90, a total of five historic truss bridges can be seen, including a vertical lift bridge, a swing bridge, and three pony truss bridges. It is rare for so many bridges and such a rich variety to be found all on the same short section of road. However, as of 2020, these bridges are also collectively at risk for demolition and replacement, which would be a devasting loss as this is one of the most unique group of bridges in the state.
