Bridge Documentation

This bridge offers an attractive combination of truss spans, with a through truss at the center of the bridge, and a deck truss span at each end. The bridge has stone piers, which have been extensively widened and reconstructed at the base with concrete and sheet pile. The truss spans in contrast appear to be largely unaltered from their original design and materials. The through truss span has an unusual variation of a Warren truss, where the center panel breaks from the repeating "V" pattern and instead has an "X" of diagonal members, more like a Pratt truss.
