This bridge is a Warren pony truss of relatively lightweight construction. It has a very unusual detail in that on each of the two truss lines, short sections of channel are riveted to the top of the top chord at two connection points. This appears to be an original detail designed to provide additional strength where engineers felt it was needed. It may be further evidence that this bridge is a lightweight bridge that attempted to make a very economical use of materials. The bridge today remains in relatively good condition. Historic integrity is also good with the replacement of original railings the only noteworthy alteration.
