Bridge Documentation

This webpage is focused not on the bridge seen today, but instead only on the four stone end posts that are located at the four corners of this bridge. These four posts are the only things that remain of an unknown bridge that was built here in 1906. The posts have the names "Clinton" and "Louth" and the date "1906" on them. Sadly, aside from these old posts, there is no heritage bridge to see here, since it was demolished and replaced with a precast concrete culvert in 2010. The 2010 culvert is made to look like a stone arch bridge with concrete balustrade railings, however to anyone who has ever looked at an actual heritage stone arch bridge with these features, the 2010 culvert's inauthenticity is all too obvious since the "stone" facade and very fake looking, while only the balusters of the balustrade railings look like an original concrete balustrade railing.

This webpage is not intended to recognize the 2010 bridge (aside from noting that making a modern bridge look like a heritage bridge is a waste of time); it is only here to recognize the 1906 stone end posts which are a reminder that there was once an interesting heritage bridge here. It may have been a stone arch bridge, which may explain the attempt to make the replacement bridge look like that structure type.
