This old bridge looks like a stone arch bridge. However it is actually a concrete arch bridge that was built with a stone facing as well as a stone railing so it looks like a stone arch bridge. This practice has been done in bridge construction on an occasional frequency ever since concrete was first used in arch bridge construction. Ironically, this heritage bridge's use of stone facing on a concrete arch bridge is similar to what was done with the nearby Victoria Avenue Bridge demolition and replacement project in 2010. However, unlike the modern Victoria Avenue Bridge, the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre Bridge's stones do not have a fake appearance to them. They are genuine stones that successfully make a concrete arch bridge look like a stone arch bridge.
