This bridge is an excellent example of a pin-connected railroad through truss. The bridge is traditionally composed, however does not display the enormously massive members that is typical of so many railroad truss bridges. However, the bridge would not be described as lightweight either. A less massive railroad truss bridge might indicate an older structure, or a railroad line that was not built to carry loads as heavy as some railroad lines. This particular bridge has a number of stringer approach spans resting on timber pile bents. The truss span rests on stone piers.
