This bridge is located on an old alignment that is today essentially a dead-end road for two houses on the other side of the bridge. The bridge is an excellent example of an early Wrought Iron Bridge Company Pratt truss bridge. The key details of the company's early Pratt trusses are visible including cast iron bearing assembly, threaded rod and nut connections for the bottom chord to end post, diagonal member to end post, and hip vertical to top chord. Also characteristic of these early Pratt trusses are the vertical members composed of two plates riveted to i-beam, and the lightweight rods that run through the middle of the truss webs, and also lengthwise down the middle of the overhead bracing. This West Virginia example is largely unaltered and retains good historic integrity.
