Luten Bridge Company of York, Pennsylvania was not directly owned or affiliated with famous concrete bridge engineer Daniel Luten or his National Bridge Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. Rather, Luten Bridge Company of York, Pennsylvania was one of several bridge independent companies that formed across the country to provide construction services for patented Luten arch bridges. The local company would have to deal with the National Bridge Company, which held the patent rights, to acquire permission to use the patented technology.
