Historic Bridges of Alabama

Like most states in the southeastern corner of the United States, Alabama has very few historic bridges. Despite a small bridge population, there are still several very important and noteworthy bridges in the state. The preservation of each surviving historic bridge should be considered essential as a result. HistoricBridges.org currently features a documented representation of some of the top historic bridges in the state, particularly the larger historic bridges in the state. Largely absent from current coverage are pin-connected trusses; most of Alabama's surviving pin-connected truss bridges are abandoned far back on long-abandoned roads and are extremely overgrown and difficult to access without effort.
