Missouri once had one of the largest metal truss bridge populations in the country including one of the largest collections of long-span truss bridges over navigable rivers. Sadly, preservation is essentially nonexistent in Missouri, and historic bridges are rapidly being demolished. HistoricBridges.org has modest coverage of Missouri with a focus on St. Louis, Kansas City, and high-significance bridges in rural areas. Note: If you are looking for bridges in the Kansas City area, it can be confusing due to the city, state, and county borders. This link will list all bridges on HistoricBridges.org in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.
