A moderate number of historic bridges remain in Kentucky, less than in some of the surrounding states. This is surprising, given the number of creeks and rural areas in the state, but unsurprising given a lacking commitment to historic bridge preservation present in Kentucky. HistoricBridges.org has coverage for many of the large-span bridges in the western part of the state, a number of Ohio River bridges, and scattered coverage of bridges in the interior of the state, with a focus on high-significance bridges.
