View A Historical Article Discussing The Quarry This Bridge's Stone Came From

Compared to other counties in California, Napa County has a large number of stone arch bridges. This example however stands out for its length and number of spans, since many of the stone arch bridges in the county are single or double span and thus very short. This bridge retains good historic integrity. Today, the bridge is no longer the main road and bridge for this crossing, since a new bridge and road to the north plays that role now. However, the bridge does still serve vehicular traffic as a shortcut for people turning right onto Silverado Trail (CA-121). D H. Buckman was the County Surveyor when this bridge was built. H. W. Wing built the bridge. The stone came from his quarry which was located about six miles northeast of Napa.
