Bridge Documentation

This bridge is next to a highway bridge, and they both share the same stone piers and abutment. The history of the two bridges may be connected as described on the highway bridge page. This girder bridge is somewhat unusual too. Each span appears to be the same length, but the center girder span is not as deep as the other two end spans. Also, their are unusual details at the ends of the girder where a curved section (which often is the end of a through girder) is framed around a rectangular section. It is not known if this is part of the original girder design, of if these might be salvaged and relocated girder spans that were strengthened and lengthened slightly and reused here.
