Remnants
The last vestiges of the supporting structure for the old Johnsey Bridge are still visible in 2013 when Blackwater Creek is low enough. Also, some old rusting metal can still be seen just under the surface of the water.

Welcome to...
... Macedonia Blackwater community, which was my home for 7 years (2005-2012) I wish I had been interested in historic bridges when I lived there, just three miles or so from the bridge, but I was just 18 when Johnsey Bridge was torn down in 2009. I admit the replacement span is at least aesthetic (and doing a careful evaluation under it yesterday, the trusses are indeed structural and in good shape) but I miss the old bridge at the site, which may well have been 90-100 years old when scrapped.

Most trestles of this design on modern lines are made of steel bents that only appear to be wooden based on their arrangement, but this old bridge is indeed wooden.
