Missouri Highway Dept Bridge J21 US Route 67 over St Francis River at Greenville

These photos of bridge J21 from the 1930s illustrated its use by US Route 67 over the St Francis River at Greenville Missouri. The bridge was moved here and erected in 1908-09 for use by the Williamsville Greenville & St Louis Railway. It was acquired by the Missouri Highway Dept in 1930 and was widened 6' for use by US Route 67. In 1941 following construction of the Wappapello Dam 20 miles downsteam, it was replaced by a new bridge (J21R). The truss was then dismantled and match marked and saved by the Corps of Engineers for planned reuse in Cross County Arkansas
