Rehabilitation project on the bridge, photo was dated 1968. This demonstrates the beginning rise in elevation of the temporary deck that was necesary to go up and over the arch on the span being replaced. I stated on this page some years ago that crossing this construction as a very small child i recalled no side railing, i was obviously mistaken since this photo clearly shows the protection in place. However i still stand by my other statement that going up and over the arch was way spooky! Charles Bowden
