Carries Redmond Grade Road over Grande Ronde River
Design: truss/through/pennsylvania
Design Details: The Troy Bridge is a three span pin connected through truss structure consisting of a single 175-foot Pennsylvania-Petit through truss main span. The northern approach is a short girder/stringer span leading to the main truss, while the southern approach is a 60-foot riveted Warren pony truss.
The Troy Bridge features many of the standard features found on bridges built around the turn of the 20th century. These features include, riveted built up members, “A-frame” portal bracing, and builder plaques at each portal. The portal builder plaques indicate that the Troy Bridge was built in 1910 by the Columbia Bridge Company of Walla Walla, Washington.
The bridge was closed to vehicle traffic in the years following the turn of the 21st century and continues to serve the community of Troy as a pedestrian bridge between the town and the local school.
