Carries WA 4 Alignment over Dry Gulch
Design: arch/deck/open
Design Details: The Ocean Beaches Highway Bridge is an abandoned open spandrel deck arch bridge located adjacent to WA 4 approximately 1.5 miles west of the Abernathy Creek Bridge. From the WA 4 the bridge is mostly concealed by small trees that have grown in the bottom of the gulch. Only the west end of the bridge is visible.
The bridge features double spandrel columns along the arches and the standard ornamental railing seen in Washington State during of the era. The bridge was on a former alignment of the Ocean Beaches Highway which runs along the north shore of the Columbia River from Kelso to Naselle, Washington. The bridge appears to have been bypassed around 1963 when a new alignment was established closer to the river level.
