I82 Bridge

This bridge and its sister were built to replace the Upper Selah Bridge and the Lower Selah Bridge (AKA 4th Street Bridge) This set of bridges are the only "old" bridges to be incorporated into the Interstate Freeway Bridges.

Naches River Northern Pacific Railroad Bridge

This was the original RR bridge built in 1884. It was replaced with a steel bridge sometime before the 1906 flood. The bridge itself was not destroyed in this flood but the approach (wooden trestle) to the south was washed out.

Looking south to the approach of the once "Upper Selah Bridge enroute to North Yakima. This is the second bridge in a series that led from Selah to North Yakima. The route and bridges were abandoned in 1947 with the completion of the present 823 bridge. Only this little bridge survived.

4th Street Bridge

Photo taken in 1909 from the Cascade mill. During the spring flood logs are transported down the river and retrieved at this point by the Cascade Mill. Please note the round cement pier in the middle of the river. This pier still presently remains in the river.

To the left there is a railroad, and in the 1900s the only railroad would be the Northern Pacific placing the location of this bridge west of the NP railroad bridge on the Natches River/
