This extremely unusual railroad bridge contains two spans that are the salvaged arms of a former swing bridge. It is not known if these spans were always in this location and there used to be a swing bridge here, or if a swing bridge from some other location was replaced and the arms were moved here. Originally the two pin-connected truss spans seen here would have been connected by a swing tower in the center. Today, the tower is gone and instead of a tower resting on a circular pier, the former swing arms sit on a normal fixed pier. Because all of the parts of the bridge that would have allowed it to be movable, HistoricBridges.org did not list the main span type as a swing span. The spans are nevertheless notable in the province as rare examples of pin-connected trusses of any kind. Lengths given are estimates.
