Bridge Documentation

This bridge's future is at risk!

Compared to lattice guardrail beam bridges in Michigan, which were built in the teens, this Ontario looks is a later example, as it is dated to the 1940s. The structure is two span, and is skewed. The lattice railings are typical Ontario design, which are noted for having their lattice composed of angle steel rather than simple bars. This seems a sensible design, as it would add some strength to the railings if they were hit. The Drake Road Bridge appears to be in good condition, and minor maintenance was done on it recently, when drain pipes were added into the deck, suggesting that there are no demolition plans for this bridge.
