This bridge was completed in 1962 and as such it is a very late example of a deck truss. However, the bridge is noted for its very long length. With its parallel chord trusses, the bridge has the appearance of simple truss spans, but the spans are continuous as can be seen at the piers where the trusses are rigidly connected to each other. Its nearly exclusive use of i-beams as opposed to built-up box beams, as well as its use of bolted connections, was at the forefront of the trend of bridge construction practice in the 1960s, where older practices such as riveting and built-up beams with lattice and v-lacing were left behind. The main builder/contractor for this bridge was listed as Yuba Consolidated Industries. However, the American Bridge Company of New York, New York was apparently the steel superstructure contractor for the bridge, since this bridge is listed on the bridge company's list of projects they built.
