This bridge is a rare example of a rainbow arch bridge, and as a multi-span example it has additional significance. The bridge has two rainbow arch main spans and a concrete t-beam approach span at each end. Immediately west of this bridge the ruined remains of tall cassions, likely a substructure from a previous bridge, remain in place. The bridge retains excellent historic integrity with no alterations noted. One problem however is that it is one of the most graffiti-covered bridges ever documented by HistoricBridges.org. Not only is half the bridge nearly completely covered in paint from graffiti, someone even went so far as to glue carved panels with various designs on them right onto some sections of the bridge railing. Some people in this area apparently have way too much time on their hands. Perhaps they should consider applying for a job working for the contractors who will be retrofitting this historic bridge in 2016.
