This bridge is a fairly short swing bridge. The center pier has an unusual design in that it is composed of a ring of caissons. A complex network of bracing rods connects between the caissons. The swing truss does not have a center "tower" like most swing bridges, and so when crossing the bridge it is not easily apparent that this is actually a swing bridge based on looking at the truss appearance.
