This bridge is configured as a pair of bridges, each containing noteworthy approach spans and bascule main spans that are among the oldest of their kind in the entire country. Sadly, only a few very poor obstructed photos are currently available for this bridge. If anyone has better photos they are willing to share, please contact us! A few HAER photos are also included in the gallery.
The approach spans are not the same, the longer spans are pin connected, while the shorter spans are rivet connected. This bridge is unusual in that its main span (the bascule span) is not the longest span. The approach spans of this bridge range in size including from north to south: 218 feet (3 spans, pin connected),deck plate girder spans of 35 and 109 feet, and a through truss (rivet connected) of 145 feet.
