Bridge Documentation

This bridge's future is at risk!

Bridge Status: This historic bridge is being replaced and demolished!

Configured as a pair of superstructures on shared bents, this bridge was not preserved. Lengths given are estimates.

This bridge was originally double-track, then reduced to single-track, and now is being completely replaced with a new double-track (or side-by-side single-track) bridge for the Brightline passenger trains.

Bridge is featured in nice daylight in this Danny Harmon video

Videos from someone who has been documenting all of the F.E.C. Construction follow. In the first link, the bridge is featured from 5:15-7:45. Note that it appears to be two separate bridges (at least to start with) and that the new second track is on the east side of the current active track, whereas the old second track was on the west side of it. Second video here. More videos can be found be on YouTube.

The new bridge is a combination of deck and through spans. This is to increase clearance over the road, as the existing bridge was hit hard when the construction began, see this video.
