This bridge is a through truss vertical lift that has a very short lifting ability. It can only lift up a distance that is approximately equivalent to the height of the truss web. The bridge consists of the Pratt through truss lift span that contains seven panels. The bridge's lift towers are integrated into approach through truss spans: on the east end a seven panel Pratt through truss, and on the west end a tiny three panel through truss that could essentially be called a Queenpost although the engineers that designed the bridge probably just considered it a short Pratt. There is also a series of plate girder approach spans.
This was on the Seaboard Air Line Railroad's line to Montgomery, Alabama. This line is basically abandoned although the rail is still in at Omaha leading up to the bridge. The big paper mill, which we refer to as Dunder-Mifflin is served by a Norfolk Southern branch from Columbus, GA.
