This bridge is one of a number of mid-20th Century railroad bridges on the Little Calumet River and Calumet Sag Channel all of similar appearance and design. This bridge however has a slightly different appearance in terms of its top chord slope angles, which gives the bridge's polygonal top chord a flatter appearance than most of the other railroad bridges on these waterways. This bridge also has a pier with the date... 1958... stamped into it, something not observed on the other railroad bridges on the waterway.
There is a Bar/Grill called Waterfront Pub located at the southeast quadrant around the bridge that not only offers good food but it is possible to view this truss bridge as well as the Torrence Avenue Grand Calumet River bridge from the bar.
Thanks to Tom Winkle for providing boat transportation to assist in the photo-documentation of this historic bridge.
