Concrete slab bridges are generally both modern and ugly, but this 1953 example is quite an attractive structure. The concrete slab has an arched shape to it, and the multiple span design creates a unique and graceful bridge that is quite attractive. The bridge also retains original railings. Indiana sometimes builds modern bridges with railings similar to these, but the railings on the Benton Bridge do not appear to be new.
