Information and Findings From DHPA Historic Bridge SurveyBridge History and Significance Concrete abutments and wing-walls support the one-span Warren pony trusses which are offset about 10% from one another. Each truss is full hip at one end and has a foreshortened panel to adjust for the skew. Its verticals are manufactured from crafted I beams and its diagonals from a pair of angles riveted together with battens. The angles of the diagonals are heaviest in the outermost panels. The I floor-beams are bolted to gussets and the verticals above the lower chord and carry the concrete deck and roadway. The varied size of the diagonals and the placement of the floor-beams suggest an intermediate stage of all-riveted Warren pony construction. The skew and the adjustment in panel size and truss design as well as the form of the verticals are all noteworthy. The structure retains its original members, including latticed guardrails.
