This abandoned bridge features a single through truss span plus a long series of steel stringer approach spans.
Information and Findings From DHPA Historic Bridge SurveyBridge History and Significance At the center of this 560' structure seated on a concrete pier, abutment, and wingwalls, is a 180' all-bolted, through Parker which spans the river. To the east are sixteen I beam approach spans supported by I beam piers. Fabricated from laced channels, intermediate verticals divide the through truss into nine panels. The three center section panels have a horizontal top chord and cross diagonals as does a Camelback. All diagonals are made of angles riveted to stay plates and most are bolted from top to bottom panel points towards midspan. The I floor-beams are bolted to the vertical below the lower chord. They support the concrete deck with its 20' roadway and 11' of vertical clearance. One of three bolted Parkers and one of six with a Camelback-like center section, this truss retains its original members, including decoratively latticed portals and guardrails.
