Bridge History and Significance
Concrete abutments and wingwalls support the single-span Warren pony trusses which are about 16% offset from one another. The riveted structure extends 86'9" in six panels. External sway braces are integrated with the verticals. The verticals are made from two pairs of angles riveted together with battens and the diagonals a pair of heavy angles and battens. The outer diagonals are heavieer than the more central ones. The I floor-beams are bolted to gussets and the verticals above the lower chord and carry the asphalt-over-concrete deck with its 24'3" roadway. The weight and varied size of the diagonals, the placement of the floor-beams, and the integration of knee or external sway braces with the verticals mark the final stage in the design of all-riveted Warren pony trusses. Only the skew is noteworthy. This brige retains its original members, including latticed guardrails.
