This bridge is a traditionally composed example of a concrete arch bridge. It is on former state highway alignment and appears to have been originally designed to serve that highway. The bridge has become overgrown with vines, but it retains structural and historic integrity, for a 1928 bridge. 1928 is the construction date given for this bridge. However, the historic bridge survey found that the bridge was widened by three feet on each side. Widening a bridge requires railing replacement. The railings on the bridge are typical for a 1928 bridge in Indiana. Also, if the bridge was six feet narrower it would only be 19 feet wide, typical of a bridge older than 1928. It may be that this bridge is actually older than 1928 and was a one lane bridge that was widened in 1928.
