This bridge typifies bridge construction in the late 1800s and early 1900s in the heart of the Midwest, with its caisson (lally column) piers and steel stringer approach spans leading to a six panel truss main span. The bridge retains good historic integrity, with a noteworthy aspect of this being the retention of original lattice hub-guard railings on both the truss span and the approach spans. There is minor impact damage to an end post. There are cast intersection assemblies for the overhead lateral diagonal bracing. The bridge contains a traditional wooden deck.
