This bridge is among the most technologically and historically noteworthy of Winneshiek County's many riveted truss bridges, because it does not follow the standard plan that so many other examples in the county do, and in addition it is is an older example. Visually, the bridge also stands out as an especially impressive example, with trusses that are fairly tall for a bridge of this size.  A steel stringer approach  span is present on the bridge as well. The bridge retains good historic integrity. Among the county's surviving riveted connection truss bridges, this structure should be given higher preservation priority.
