This bridge has a couple unusual details, and with the exception of altered portal bracing, retains good historic integrity. The lower portion of the portal bracing was removed. Gusset plates, now unused with empty rivet holes are evidence of this.
The counter diagonal members of this bridge are not typical eyebars, and are instead an unusual forged clevis design. This is extremely rare, and a noteworthy detail of an otherwise traditionally composed bridge. Also of note, the substructure includes built-up steel riveted bents.
This bridge is closed with an uncertain future. Local residents are very fond of this bridge and want it preserved in place, and even hold little gatherings on the bridge as can be seen from the field visit by HistoricBridges.org.
