This bridge is a classic example of a pin-connected Pratt truss built by the King Bridge Company. It has the trademark star and teardrop cutout design in the portal bracing knee that the King Bridge Company used. The trusses appear to retain excellent historic integrity.
This bridge was bypassed by a modern bridge in 1980 and subsequently abandoned. Additionally, ownership of the bridge has been apparently been formally transferred to a private owner. The bridge has not been maintained and the deck is falling apart. It is fenced off. It is hoped that the private owner of this bridge realizes what a beautiful treasure this bridge is.
This bridge is reportedly privately owned by Melinda VanArsdall of 2518 Devils Hollow Road.
