This extremely rare bowstring truss bridge served a road that has been abandoned for a very long time, but it remains open to pedestrian usage on an undeveloped trail. It is a good example of one of the bowstring designs of the King Bridge Company. The style of the bridge, particularly the vertical members and the trussed floorbeams suggest the bridge is a later example of a King bowstring, perhaps dating to ca 1878-1880. Earlier 1870s bowstrings used a lighter design of vertical member.
