HAER Data Pages, PDF

This attractive and rare cast and wrought iron bowstring truss bridge was relocated and preserved here for pedestrian use. The HAER documentation above illustrates and describes the bridge's original location on Crum Road. The bridge retains good historic integrity with no major alterations. The bridge has been cared for in its new location, and has been repainted at least once since relocating. The bearings were also found to be clean and free of debris, something simple that goes a long way to ensuring the bridge's good condition in the long-term.

Note that the HAER Data Pages are in error, this bridge is NOT the product of the King Bridge Company but rather the Wrought Iron Bridge Company. It closely follows the Wrought Iron Bridge Company's patented design. Also, the ca. 1890 construction date they estimate is unrealistic. The Wrought Iron Bridge Company rarely if ever built this bridge design after ca. 1880. The bridge likely dates to the 1870s.

This bridge is tagged with the following special condition(s): Keystone Columns
