This bridge is one of two unique, highly ornamental bridges built over the Loch Raven Reservoir. Even though it isn't in the city of Baltimore, the city is noted on the portal bracing because this bridge was built as part of the reservoir created for the city. The bridge is noted for its rare use of vertical end posts. The other bridge is on Paper Mill Road. It is assumed that like Paper Mill Road, this bridge was designed by J. E. Greiner.
